Penguins are very efficient predators, highly adapted to preying on small fish, squid, and crustaceans. Their wings have evolved into flippers, allowing them to "fly" through the water. Most penguins spend about half their life on land and half in the ocean.

   Penguins are native to the southern hemisphere, which is why you don't actually see them in the wild with polar bears. You can remember this because "Arktos" is Greek for bear, which is where we get the term "Artic"; it's where you find bears, and the Antarctic is where you find no bears. I know, that's pretty bear-centric, so you can think of it as the Bearisphere and the Penguisphere, if you prefer (I do.)
